Ramshackle Munich sets off from Calais on the Friday the 20st September 2013. ALL teams are required to Check In with us in Calais the Thursday evening before the event starts.
Teams gather at the starting location on Friday morning from 07h00 to 08h00 for the pre-start shenanigans! This is the time for everybody to make their grand entrance in their prized banger.
Teams who are signed up for this event will receive more detailed information about the Check In venue, the Check In process and the starting location closer to the time. It is likely to be a different location to previous years so please log in and check the updates pages regularly.
We are arriving mid week during the first week of the festival and our arrival after the opening ceremony on the 21st September is deliberate. Whilst the opening ceremony of the festival has a fantastic atmosphere, no beer may be served until the mayor has tapped the first barrell of beer. This generally takes place at about 12pm after which beers may be served. If you were lucky enough to find a place to sit, then waiting for up to 3000 beers to be served in the first round before ordering another can seem like eternity. The atmosphere mid week is equally brilliant and the chances of getting a seat in one of the tents is vastly improved. A full festival guide is provided to regsitered teams.
